Position: Class Instructor/Party Host

Summary: The Class Instructor is responsible for creating a fun and enjoyable learning environment and directly reports to the Manager. 

Qualifications:

·       Individuals must be at least 18 years of age

·       High School Diploma, required

·       Teacher's background required (certified teacher or in school to be a teacher)

·       Previous experience speaking in a large group setting, required

·  Must obtain Texas Food Handlers Card

·       Must be available weekends and weekday evenings

·       2 + years’ experience with children

·       Helpful and enthusiastic personality

·       Must be able to speak loudly and convey clear instructions to others

·       Ability to share general decorating knowledge and answer or direct questions to students

Responsibilities: 

·       Set up each table with ingredients and materials required for instruction

·       Set up each table with ingredients and materials required for each student

·       Greet and welcomes all students 

·       Instruct and demonstrate any included recipes

·       Instruct and assist cake, cookie and cupcake decorating activities

·       Maintain a positive and helpful attitude during work hours

·       Entertain and engage with all students

·       Maintain high energy levels with guests throughout the time of the class

· Take pictures and videos of each class for marketing purposes

·       Set-up and clean-up event space before and after class

·       Answer questions and/or direct questions to the appropriate person. 

·       Required to open, close and secure the building. 

·       Communicate program information or needs to the participants, parents, and/or community members

·       Be able to share general department operational knowledge.

·       Be punctual and present to every event scheduled

·       Help to create and ensure a safe program environment which may include program set-up and clean-up and general cleaning of the studio

·       Work collaboratively with all other staff members and management 

·       Uphold and exemplify policies and guidelines in all aspects of job

·       Communicate all incidents or injuries, needs, or concerns to immediate supervisor  

·       Complete, collect, and submit all applicable forms, reports, and payroll documentation as directed by immediate supervisor 

·       May be asked to help advertise and market classes

·       May be asked to help with events outside of the office

·       Ability to facilitate conflict resolution and independently problem-solve

·       Attend and participate in department-provided training, in-services and training

·       Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or department administrator

Pay: $10 training, $18 per hour

Part-time: < 10 hours per week

Schedule: Weekday afternoons, evenings & weekends
